Raymond Nix
Raymond Nix, Raymond Nix has spent his professional career committed to community and housing development. Mr. Nix has national experience transforming distressed neighborhoods into affordable and livable communities of choice. He has led the planning and development efforts executing on complex mixed income and mixed financed housing developments throughout the Mid-Atlantic and South Eastern regions.
Raymond is the co-founder and managing partner of Urban Matters Development Partners, L.L.C., a real estate development company based in Washington, D.C. specializing in affordable housing. Raymond believes that the physical environment is equally as important as community development and is committed to building communities that matter. This approach has led to the planning and development of over 1,300 residential units totaling more than $275,000,000 in total development costs.
Raymond is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. He also serves as a guest lecturer for the University of Maryland’s Masters of Real Estate Development program, a Speaker of the House of Delegates Appointee for the Prince George’s County Surcharge Exemption Workgroup, a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated and a Board member for the Hampstead Foundation.
Mr. Nix was recently honored by the Washington DC Chapter of the African American Real Estate Professionals and profiled by City First Bank of Washington, DC as a trailblazer for his impact on community development.
Raymond has earned a Master’s in City and Regional Planning and a bachelor’s in landscape architecture from The Ohio State University.
